How to Recycle and Repurpose your content.Why it works! What not to do !!

So recycling or repurposing, your digital marketing content, I’m Richard, Richard Dawson, a Digital Marketing Coach.

This is my weekly digital marketing update. So as promised this time, we're going to talk about content, recycling, or content repurposing. You hear both those phrases used. They mean, the same thing, essentially. It means re-using your own existing content.

A quick word of warning. It’s not repurposing other people's content-copying & pasting it and making some minor changes. It's your own content that we're talking about here. A very important distinction.

By re-purposing it in a new format you can expand its reach gives it a longer lifespan and brings you more business. It’s really that simple. So two ways, you can repurpose or recycle your content.

The first of these is to create new iterations of that content. So new formats. maybe cut a longer article or blog into shorter posts on various topics within that blog. Or post social media content from another Channel out of sequence. So posting something on LinkedIn this week. And next week, take the same post and put it onto Facebook.

It might be, for example, turning a post or a Blog into an infographic, which is a very different way of using that content . Or for example, turning a blog or a post into a discussion or a poll. So, there are lots of ways you can take existing content and iterate it in a slightly different way that can really help you.

Secondly, there's reposting old content. This is much simpler really. That means, for example, you put out a LinkedIn post or a Facebook post this week, and you simply repost exactly the same thing in a few months’ time. That’s providing the content is ‘Evergreen’ that is its content that won't date for example.

So that's repurposing or recycling, your content. Next time. I think we're going to look again at Tik Tok. The reason for that is that it's really developing very, very quickly. It's becoming a serious and mature social media platform. Nearly every Business to Consumer brand is on it and a lot of Business to Business brands are on it too.

So it's becoming really important. So we'll have a quick look at Tik Tok next time. So if you want to repurpose, your content, use the best digital marketing to grow your business, or maybe you just don't want more sales. you just want more of the right type of customers!!
